These Microsoft products reach the end of support in 2020
In 2020, support for various Microsoft products will end. The first products reached the end of support already on January 14th. Microsoft lists all products whose support will end in 2020 on an overview page. In addition, Microsoft informs: “No new security updates, non-security updates, free or paid support options or online updates of technical content will be offered after the support expires or is discontinued.

Products that change to Extended Support
The products listed below will change from General to Extended Support this year. Extended support is available for a minimum of 5 years and includes free security updates and paid non-security updates and support. In addition, Microsoft will not accept requests for design modifications or new features during the Extended Support phase.

Dynamics NAV is a standard software for Enterprise Resource Planning systems, which was taken over by Microsoft from the Danish developer Navision Software A/S in 2002. ERP systems enable companies to optimize their business processes, work more efficiently and thus save costs.
Microsoft’s support for the Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 version ended on January 14th. Dynamics NAV 2015 also changed from General to Extended Support. According to Microsoft, future updates for this version are limited to “free security updates as well as paid non-security updates and support” for (at least) five years.
