Cloud-Computing agiles

What experience do companies have with the cloud?

Two out of three companies in Germany already rely on cloud computing. This is the result of a survey by Bitkom Reasearch GmbH on behalf of KPMG, the results of which can be found in the current Cloud Monitor 2018. With its focus on Cloud Security, the study deals with the experience that German companies have made with data security in the cloud – and which aspects are particularly important in cloud use.

Last year, about half of the companies (51%) used private cloud applications and almost a third (31%) relied on public cloud solutions. The use of the public cloud is an option for more and more companies. For 55% the public cloud was not an issue in 2016. This now only applies to 42%. Three out of four public cloud users (75%) confirm an improvement in location-independent access to their IT. Two-thirds (66%) indicate faster scalability of their own resources. In addition, lower administrative costs of every fifth company (21%) and a reduction in IT costs (18%) were mentioned as advantages.

Security is one of the most important concerns in cloud use. For 50% the security of their data was improved by the public cloud. Data security concerns are still one of the main reasons that keep non-users from using the cloud. If you are interested in the whole study, you can download it here (German only).

Overall, the findings highlight the growing importance of the cloud and its pivotal role in the digital transformation. Although cloud services have been playing an increasingly important role in large companies with more than 2,000 employees, they also offer small and medium-sized companies numerous advantages due to their flexibility, spatial independence and ongoing updates.

We offer our solutions in the secure Microsoft cloud that meets the highest standards (more information about the Microsoft Cloud Germany can be found here).

Features of agiles solutions in the Microsoft cloud:

Compliance and Data Protection

Benefit from the highest security standards for your data. You are the owner of your data and without authorization no one except you will have access.

ISO Standards and Certificates

In addition to the laws and policies that apply to online services related to data security and privacy, Microsoft Cloud Germany also provides other standards and regulatory requirements, such as ISO 27001. The compliance and certification portfolio is unique in the industry.

Secure Data Center

Security is a top priority at Microsoft and every data center is protected four times: access control, perimeter security, building security and hardware protection. This usually offers more effective protection than the measures you could implement for your own on-premise IT.

The decision is yours: Whether public cloud, private cloud or hybrid. You can also decide for yourself which data center from which region you would like to use. If you have strict privacy and compliance guidelines in Germany or the EU, then you should opt for the German cloud.

Cyber Security

Cybercrime has become a major challenge in recent years. The Internet, connected mobile devices, and the growing number of cloud services are providing cybercriminals with many opportunities to gain access to foreign data or sabotage companies.

For the Microsoft cloud, there is a holistic approach to security: In addition to the intelligent security systems and tools, Microsoft operates the Threat Intelligence Center, where a team monitors data worldwide that can point to new cyberattacks.

Ongoing Updates

The cloud technologies are not only secure, but also always up to date thanks to ongoing cloud updates. This pays off, especially with new security features, because potential gaps can be closed quickly before they are exploited by attackers.
